THE 2024 SEMC ANNUAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE

HILTON BATON ROUGE CAPITOL CENTER

SEMC 2024 Annual Meeting Headquarters

The HILTON BATON ROUGE CAPITOL CENTER Hotel is the Official headquarters hotel & location for the 2024 SEMC Annual Meeting

SEMC2024 Annual Meeting sessions and activities will take place at The Hilton Capitol Center Hotel (201 Lafayette Street) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with evening events hosted at Baton Rouge area cultural institutions. SEMC Annual Meetings are about connecting with colleagues, sharing ideas, and networking. We help facilitate these by contracting with a hotel for a discounted room block and centralizing meeting spaces - both of which require minimum financial thresholds to be met.

Staying in the official headquarters hotel makes connecting with colleagues easier and helps us keep the Annual Meeting affordable to attendees. Cut-off date for reservations is October 5, 2024 or when block is full, whichever comes first.

Room blocks can fill up quickly, so book early.

SEMC2024 Room Block Rates:

King Standard: $159 + tax

Queen Standard (two queen beds): $159 + tax

King Riverview: $159 + tax

Relax in a guest room that has a view of the Mississippi River or downtown Baton Rouge. Take advantage of the complimentary high-speed internet access and comfortable work area. Each room has a unique floor plan and decorations reminiscent of the era in which the hotel was built. Enjoy our full breakfast buffet and weekend brunches in the Kingfish Restaurant or grab a craft cocktail in the Kingfish Lounge open 7 days a week. Dinner is also offered in our Lounge featuring fresh local seafood daily.

BEWARE: HOUSING PIRATES

While housing pirates are nothing new, they are more prevalent now, as technology continues to make it easier to solicit attendees and exhibitors. These pirates may convince your people to give them a credit card and other sensitive information with promises of great rate room reservations they may or may not deliver.

WHAT IS A HOUSING PIRATE? - There are different terms, but pirate seems to be the most recognized. The pirates obtain attendee/exhibitor lists and directly solicit them claiming to be the “housing provider” for your event. In some cases, the pirates secure room blocks from hotels with low rates who are not part of the contracted room block, potentially creating an attrition situation with those contracted.

The Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center is the official hotel reservation company for SEMC2024. If another company contacts you, please contact Zinnia Willits at zwillits@semcdirect.net  immediately. SEMC works to prevent the unauthorized solicitation of the SEMC2024 exhibitors and attendees and will pursue these companies to prevent further contact.

About The Hilton Capitol Center Hotel

The Hilton Capitol Center once again stands proud as it did when it was originally constructed in 1927 and called home by Huey Long. In a state where every man is a king and in a building where the past becomes the present, the hotel blends both history and elegance. The historic Heidelberg and Capitol House Hotel have been fully restored to their former state of grandeur with over $70 million in renovations. Overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River and located in picturesque downtown Baton Rouge, the hotel is adjacent to the Shaw Center and the River Center Convention Center. It is also less than five minutes from the Louisiana State Capitol and three miles from Louisiana State University.

Satisfy your appetite with steaks and seafood, as well as daily breakfasts at our on-site restaurant, Kingfish Grill. For casual drinks and small plates, head to our lobby lounge, which stays open until midnight
