Professional members and friends of SEMC are encouraged to make commitments of distinction as Alderson Fellows. An investment of at least $1,000 is a significant leadership gift, reflective of a personal commitment to the professional commitment to the professional association that has meant so much to each of us. Funds from the SEMC Endowment benefit professional development activities of the association and ensure future growth of the profession.
The Leadership Institute Fund
The SEMC Leadership Institute, a national program, launched in November 2020 as a professional development program of the Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC). SEMC partnered with the Association of African American Museums (AAAM) to pilot this new Leadership Institute clearly focused on leadership training for staff of small- and mid-sized institutions. The Leadership Institute, which will run again in 2022, is the perfect opportunity for you to directly impact the future of museums and museum leaders. The Martha Battle Jackson Fund The Jekyll Island Management Institute (JIMI) celebrated its 20th year as a successful SEMC program in January 2020. JIMI seeks to provide affordable administration and management training to museum professionals. Contribute to the continued development and growth of JIMI as we prepare to relaunch the program in January 2022. The Peter S. LaPaglia Fund Thanks to the generosity of friends and colleagues of the late Peter S. LaPaglia (co-founder of JIMI), the Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) and Jekyll Island Management Institute (JIMI) are pleased to offer a tuition scholarship. This endowment fund supports the annual Peter S. LaPaglia Scholarship and operations of the JIMI program. The SEMC Legacy Society
