    The Wolfsonian–Florida International University is looking for a Metadata Specialist. This position is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and improving the digital records associated with the museum’s object and library collections. The position works closely with the registration, library, curatorial, and digital teams to ensure that collection records are accurate, consistent, and accessible through internal databases and online catalogs.

    Key responsibilities include conducting data audits and database cleanup projects, completing and updating collection records, performing mass edits, developing reports and queries, and recommending improvements to metadata practices and record-management systems. The position also supports efforts to promote the museum’s collections through digital platforms and may supervise undergraduate and graduate interns.

    Ideal candidates will have experience working with museum or library databases, metadata standards and controlled vocabularies, data analysis, and database cleanup. Experience with systems such as ALMA, OCLC, and Proficio is preferred, along with familiarity with tools such as SQL, MySQL, MarcEdit, OpenRefine, and regular expressions. Candidates should also demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and be comfortable independently investigating data inconsistencies and recommending solutions.

    Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000
