Position Summary
The Wolfsonian–FIU seeks a Visitor Services Associate to support the daily operations of the museum’s admissions, visitor engagement, retail, café, and public-facing service areas. This position provides a high level of customer service by welcoming visitors, responding to phone and email inquiries, assisting with surveys, and supporting special projects throughout the museum. The Visitor Services Associate facilitates admissions and sales transactions using POS systems, handles cash and credit card payments, and processes sensitive cardholder information in accordance with departmental procedures. The role also assists with the setup and facilitation of museum events, evening programs, festivals, lectures, and other departmental activities. Additional responsibilities include assisting Museum Shop and Café visitors with merchandise selections and food and beverage orders, maintaining displays and cleanliness, and staying informed about current exhibitions, programs, and services in order to support visitor inquiries and ongoing staff training. This position serves as an advocate for the visitor while promoting the welfare of the museum, communicating with a wide range of guests to ensure a positive experience and helping resolve visitor concerns in a professional and service-oriented manner. The position may also serve as the primary or technical contact for merchant account systems and third-party payment platforms that process, transmit, or store cardholder information.
Compensation $33,000 a year/40 hours per week
