    The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Education Manager.
    The Education Manager will be based at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, but community work will have a statewide focus that requires travel. The job duties primarily include administering our new All-Access Pass Program as part of the recently expanded Community Partnerships department. In addition to recruiting, planning, and overseeing this new program, the role will include raising awareness of the benefits of local and regional historic theatres and performing arts centers. Other responsibilities will include overseeing the Georgia Presenters membership program. This position requires consistent collaboration with other departments including Marketing and Sales, Production, and others needed to make the new program successful.


    Major Responsibilities:

    §  Collaborate closely with students, educators, and Fox Gives grantees from diverse populations, geographic locations, etc. This will require travel throughout the Atlanta area and Georgia. 

    §  Collaborate with local high school education professionals to plan and implement the All-Access Program, while maintaining budgets, and implementing necessary safety, and training exercises. Host events externally and onsite for the All-Access Pass program, while always representing the Fox Theatre in a professional and comprehensive role. Host the Fox Theatre onsite educational opportunities in collaboration with fellow staff. Track participation and assemble important survey information from students and faculty for the use of the Fox Theatre leadership.

    §  Represent the Fox Theatre at state and regional-level education events, including educational conferences and workshops.

    §  Oversee the annual Fox Theatre Performing Arts Scholarship, including the application, selection committee, award process, and implementation.

    §  Implement and maintain Block Booking Grants for Georgia Presenter membership. Oversee Georgia Presenters membership renewal notices to current members promptly. Assist with Georgia Presenters members' communications and questions as needed. Participate in bi-monthly Georgia Presenters Zoom meetings.

    §  Coordinate Georgia Presenters in-person meetings with the Community Partnerships Program Assistant, including registrations, catering, hotel arrangements, and other onsite needs. Identify potential guest speakers for Georgia Presenters meetings and provide all coordination for their participation, including honorarium payments and hotel accommodations, as necessary.

    §  Work to support all goals of the Community Partnerships program department including all other duties as assigned to support the successful team.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

    §  Passion for and experience working with teenagers and adults in the performing arts.

    §  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

    §  Strong presentation skills from inception through presenting in numerous audience environments for children, adults, professionals, and Fox Theatre team.

    §  Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a wide range of administrative and tactical duties in a busy environment.

    §  Enjoy working in a small, high-energy environment and willing to work flexible hours, including limited evenings as department events require.

    §  Familiar with Microsoft Office suite and event meeting and planning practices.

    Education & Additional Experience:

    §  Bachelor's Degree in education, art education, fine arts education, theatre, theatre education, history, communications, public administration, public history, public relations, and other closely related fields.

    §  At least 10 years of nonprofit program management experience with a minimum of three of those years in a team management role.

    §  Background in teaching, performing, or other closely related field ideal.

    §  Experience working on a highly collaborative team is a priority. 

    §  This position will also require experience in these areas: performing arts, nonprofit organizations, ability to work with local government and community partners, public speaking, experience in general historic preservation planning practices, and a desire to learn.

    Physical & Special Requirements:

    §  Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.

    §  Must be able to traverse the building including stairs.

    §  Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

    §  May have prolonged periods of standing while working events.

    §  Candidate must pass all necessary background checks as required and be a fully licensed driver in the state of Georgia. Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays with prior notification.  Some travel is required.
