Manager of School Programs (Full-Time):
The Thomas Jefferson Foundation seeks candidates with interpretive experience to develop and manage the daily operations of school programs that serve nearly 60,000 students per year. The Manager of School Programs will take the lead on maintaining, developing, and evaluating Monticello's range of programs designed to serve on-site student audiences. They will also be instrumental in collaborating with staff members in a variety of departments to ensure smooth daily operations of these programs. The manager will assist in the hiring, training, and evaluating of guides and work with other managers and the director in long-term planning and implementation of interpretive programming. They will also be the direct supervisor of one sixth of the Monticello guide staff, approximately 12-15 guides. A well-qualified candidate will possess at least two years of supervisory experience, an understanding of historic interpretation principles and practices, experience in implementing creative programs for K-12 students, an advanced degree in a relevant field of study, and an ability to work some evenings and weekend days.
