    Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site, located in Boyle County, is recognized as the largest Civil War Battlefield in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The 740 land acres are rich in cultural and biological history. Moreover, the Park was recently recognized for the biological implementation of quail habitat through the planting of many native species that are indigenous to Kentucky. Therefore, the Kentucky State Park system is looking for a dynamic Park Manager who will be a dedicated team member that will provide excellent guidance with biological, cultural, and interpretive history on the Civil War and the overall management (budgets, purchasing, personnel, grounds maintenance, etc.) of the State Park. 

    As the Park Manager, you will fill a vital role by implementing the total strategic plan of the State Park. 

    Job Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Responsible for Site interpretation to visitors and promotes the historic site.
    • Oversees staff; trains employees to greet visitors and conduct tours.
    • Develops programs and events and does public speaking.
    • Responsible for all museum collections.

    Minimum Requirements

    EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE

    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in business administration, public administration or management will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 20 years and one day of age at time of appointment. Must obtain S.T.A.R. ( Server Training in Alcohol Regulations) certification from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control within six months of appointment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing

    Working Condition

    Work is performed in an office setting at a state park.

    Probationary Period

    This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

    Salary $2,937.20 - $4,699.50
