Development Assistant - Time Limited - Full-Time - $45,000 Annually
The Development Assistant provides high level, polished administrative support for the SC State Museum Foundation while being an exemplary champion of the South Carolina State Museum. The Development Assistant ensures continuous, seamless flow of accurate data and donor stewardship through work with the Foundation team. The position serves as a first line point of contact for the Foundation and maintains the main fundraising software (DonorSnap). This position reports to the SCSM Foundation Executive Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for input of donor, prospect, and grant/sponsorship data into database.
- Maintains and updates procedures for Foundation gift-processing functions in database.
- Design reports tracking various aspects of fundraising outcomes.
- Assists with planning and execution of Foundation events, including but not limited to the annual gala and donor stewardship events.
- Assists with the coordination of Foundation Board meetings including taking minutes and distributing pre- and post-meeting materials.
- Assist in the planning and execution of ongoing fundraising strategies.
- Works with Foundation staff to ensure timely donor acknowledgements and other stewardship strategies.
- Responsible for tracking and ensuring timely fulfillment of all pledges.
- Responsible for producing mailing lists for solicitations, events, and other correspondences.
- Assists with prospect research and creation of donor profiles.
- Responsible for in-kind donation requests and record management.
- Maintains Foundation calendar.
- Assists in preparation of donor communications.
- Provides support to the SCSM Foundation Executive Director as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field(s)
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and experience in a development setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge and aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a dynamic office environment and/or nonprofit organization, with administrative responsibilities
- Experience with donor relationship management systems
- Technologically savvy (computer, office equipment, mobile communications
