The Wolfsonian¬–Florida International University is recruiting for a temporary Museum Artisan to join their team of professionals. This position requires the ability to perform exhibition-related tasks, demonstrate skill in working with a variety of construction materials and techniques, and perform a wide variety of skilled duties in exhibition production and museum preparation. The Museum Artisan must possess the ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and conduct multiple tasks concurrently under the pressure of deadlines.
The Museum Artisan would also assist in the proper care, handling, and housing of objects and works on paper and would be responsible for moving, packing, shipping, and receiving crates of art in coordination with the registration department. This positions requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to fifty-seventy pounds and the ability to work on ladder at heights over fifteen feet.
This assignment may run up to eighteen weeks. Applicant must be available to work evenings and weekends, if necessary and possess a valid driver’s license.
