Program synopsis:
Podcasting offers cultural heritage organizations a direct and interesting way to connect institutional initiatives with local and national communities, promote collections and educational interactions, and increase engagement with history and archives through storytelling and conversation. In this talk, we explore the genesis of three podcast series that fall under the Rose Library Presents umbrella, with an emphasis on practical advice for how to start your own podcast series. We will discuss the nuts and bolts of the phases of production, planning a season of episodes, working with guests during a pandemic, and equipment, distribution, and analytics equipping you with the motivation to start a podcast series at your own institution.
