    Organized by the Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, Alabama

    Raised on a farm in rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Althouse grew up close to farmers and their work with the earth and animals. Based in Miami, Florida for thirty years, he worked as an artist and as Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts at Barry University.  Althouse regularly taught and lectured in France, England, Spain, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. During 2003-2004, Althouse received a Fulbright Research Fellowship as an artist-in-residence at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Liège, Brussels with concurrent German grants from Hahnemühle papers and Epson printers. The artist currently resides in central Pennsylvania where he finds inspiration from the surrounding Amish community.
