The Knoxville Museum of Art, a private not-for-profit and East Tennessee’s premier visual arts organization, seeks a motivated, experienced professional to develop, implement, and supervise education programs for school-age and adult audiences. Duties include overseeing the museum’s K-12 tour program and all other adult education programs; recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting volunteer docents; and assisting the curatorial team in developing and implementing exhibition-specific interpretation strategies. The successful candidate will at minimum have a bachelor’s degree in art history or art education or related subject, preferably with two years’ experience in museum education (including curriculum development, teaching, and program design) or equivalent; excellent writing, speaking, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and proficiency with MS-Office. Strong knowledge/familiarity with the Knoxville region helpful. Position begins on or after January 16, 2018. Full time with benefits.
