The Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) is the major regional networking organization for museums and their staff in the southeastern states:

Annual Meetings

Networking
Share ideas. SEMC is a network of museum 1,275 professionals dedicated to the excellence of the region's museums and the people who staff them. Workshops
Learn from experts. SEMC offers valuable workshops with expert instruction and extensive resource materials at a special rate for members. Recent topics have included disaster preparedness and the conservation of three-dimensional objects.
Publications
Stay informed. SEMC has a strong commitment to bringing quality publications to its membership. Our quarterly newsletter, Inside SEMC, offers museum news, exhibits, technical information, affinity group happenings and job listings. SEMC also publishes SEMC/JOBS and the Annual Membership Directory, as well as workshop proceedings and a salary survey.
Representation
Contribute to your profession. SEMC Council member and State Directors voice your concerns to the organization's governing board, where policy and actions are formed. In turn, SEMC represents the southeast's unique perspective at the American Association of Museums' Council of Regional Associations. Involvement in one of SEMC's standing committees is a great way to make contacts, increase skills, and contribute to the museum profession.
