Overview of the Role
We are seeking a visionary leader with an entrepreneurial skill set who can guide Hermann-Grima as we enter a new phase through: implementing new and innovative programming; developing strategic partnerships with local and national partners; guiding creative marketing initiatives; and positioning our organization for long-term success. The individual in this position must have executive-level management experience, and be astute at building lasting relationships with boards, partners, and constituents from a broad range of backgrounds and interests. The ideal candidate will be a keen problem solver with a proven track record of creating impactful programming and generating earned income streams. The Executive Director will serve as the primary representative of the organization to the museum, education, and philanthropic communities.
About Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses
The Hermann-Grima House and the Gallier House are run by The Woman’s Exchange, one of the oldest women- owned and operated non-profits in the South. Originally established as a human services organization to help women “in-need” after the Civil War, The Woman’s Exchange has evolved into one of the leading historic preservation and interpretation organizations in the country. As one of only six New Orleans museums accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, we are dedicated to maintaining a high standard of excellence.
Striving to preserve these unique examples of 19th century New Orleans, we encourage individuals who are passionate about 21st century education, and can leverage our distinctive history to tell the Hermann-Grima story.
