    The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience (The MAX) is seeking an experienced, reliable and task-oriented Visitor Services Manager.  Slated to open in April 2018 in downtown Meridian, Mississippi, The MAX will be a statewide asset with a mission to recognize and honor legendary artists through hands-on exhibits that visually, auditory, and kinesthetically educate, inform, and entertain visitors. The Visitor Services Manager will be responsible for the supervision of ticket sales and group reservations. The position requires a resourceful and experienced customer service professional who can provide a welcoming environment and excellent experience for all of The MAX visitors from arrival to departure. The starting date for this position is January 2018.

     

    Essential Functions

    • ·         Oversee the Ticketing area and supervises Visitor Services Associates
    • ·         Oversee and supervises Group Reservations
    • ·         Recruit and hire staff; prepare work schedules; authorize leave and overtime; conduct staff meetings; ensure staff are properly trained
    • ·         Respond immediately to visitor complaints and concerns
    • ·         Manage the collection and processing of daily receipts, accounting, posting and reconciliation of cash and charges
    • ·         Serve as The MAX’s liaison with the POS system provider, analyzing and identifying sales trends and creating regular and periodic reports
    • ·         Manage inventory of ticketing supplies, lobby equipment and other supplies
    • ·         Provide staffing and support for special events and programs
    • ·         Work a flexible schedule including some weekends, evenings and holidays

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Management, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in customer service/guest services preferably in museums, attractions, hotel/motel or tourism guest relations environments. Experience in cash handling and management and working with complex ticketing systems is highly desired.
