    The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) is seeking a dynamic self-starter to serve as Development Associate. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Development. The Development Associate will represent The MAX to the general public. He/she should be well spoken, have good presentation skills, and be comfortable in both group and one-on-one settings in promoting The MAX. The candidate will work with staff members, volunteers, and interns, and will assist with museum events and programs as needed.


    Responsibilities will include a variety of donor care duties:

    • Researches new leads and follows through with donor cultivation of individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations
    • Records notes accurately and works with the Database Coordinator to ensure precise data entry, filing, and maintenance of membership and donor records
    • Provides facility tours for donors in the absence of the Director of Development
    • Assists with the planning and facilitation of membership events
    • Supports the Development Director as required in fundraising activities
    • Assists with administrative and technical functions of the department when needed



    • Associate’s or higher degree in sales, non-profit management or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • 2-3 years of relevant fundraising and/or event planning experience
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Power Point and database systems
    • Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the work
    • Ability to follow instructions, plan, and organize work
    • Ability to work under limited supervision
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, oral presentation, and writing skills
