General Information
Our 2010 program marks the 10th annual Jekyll Island Management Institute. At JIMI, museum personnel have the opportunity to learn current methods in the field and build networks with other museum professionals. Faculty members provide subject area expertise and practical approaches to administrative challenges. Click here to download the JIMI 2010 Brochure and Application
Goals
This annual Institute provides an eight-day, total immersion environment professionals to learn more about general administration and operations. JIMI gives administrators the key resources imperative to orchestrating personnel efficiency, staff morale and overall organizational improvement.
JIMI offers opportunities for participants to learn management skills through presentations, small group discussions, projects and participatory exercises. Participants discover their management styles through self-tests and activities, groups project assignments and presentations.
Tuition
JIMI 2010 will be held Tuesday, January 19 through Tuesday, January 26. Tuition of $600 for SEMC Members, $650 for non-members includes all materials, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks, and the final banquet. Please download a PDF version of the application.
Rooms have been reserved at the beautiful seaside Beachview Club on Jekyll Island, GA. Single rooms will be approximately $85-$105/per night, and suites are approximately $120/per night, including taxes.
Peter La Paglia Scholarship Fund
Through the generosity of friends and colleagues of the late Peter S.
LaPaglia, the Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) and the Jekyll Island
Management Institute (JIMI) are pleased to announce the Peter S. LaPaglia
Scholarship. This scholarship will be available beginning with JIMI 2010
