The SEMC Annual Meeting is held either the second or third week/weekend of October with over 50 sessions/workshops offered during through a three day period.  Evening events are hosted by the local museums.  On Saturday, day trips are offered throughout the areas.

Professional Development offers SEMC-sponsored regional workshops that supplement the annual conference and addresses specific needs of member institutions and professionals.

JIMI which is held the fourth week of January provides an eight-day, total immersion environment for museum professionals to learn more about general museum administration and operations.  JIMI gives administrators the key resources imperative to orchestrating personnel efficiency, staff morale and overall institute improvement.
