SEMC is seeking nominations for the 2004 Council. Positions open for 2004 include Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three Members-at-Large.

The Nominating Committee regulations from the By-Laws approved October 30, 2002 state that “The Nominating Committee shall prepare its slate of one candidate for each position for approval for each position for approval by the Council at its mid-year meeting. The slate shall be published in the (April, May, June 2003) newsletter, accompanied by an announcement that additional nominations may be added to the slate upon a valid petition signed by ten voting members and received by the chair of the Nominating Committee six months prior to the start of the annual meeting. A candidate for an uncontested office shall be certified as elected. For contested offices, the Nominating Committee shall prepare a ballot on which the candidates for each position shall be listed in alphabetical order with an indication as to the method by which each candidate’s name was placed in nomination. Ballots shall be mailed to all voting members whose membership is current at the time of mailing. To be counted in the election, a marked ballot must be received by the chair of the Nominating Committee six weeks before the start of the annual meeting.
